Software testing is a fast route for those who want to get a well paid job and have a limited amount of time on their hands. The job of a software tester is to find and report the differences between the actual and expected behaviour of a software product. The education needed and set of skills required are easy to learn. With 50 hours of training , anyone with a passion for software testing and a bit of common sense can successfully find a job as a Software Tester in the Information Technology Industry. You will have access to realistic and relevant hands-on practice in our Computer Labs, using enterprise level software. Our Instructors will always be available in our Computer Labs for guidance and support.

On successful completion of this course you will know software testing including: software development life cycle; test planning and management; testing techniques; test organization and tool support for testing.

Course Outline
Part 1: Introduction to the World of Software, including:

- Computer Architecture (hardware & software)
- Operating Systems (multitasking, event-driven system, interfaces, Unix, Windows, Linux, Mainframe)
- Application Development Process SDLC (Waterfall, Rational Unified Process (RUP), Extreme Programming (XP))
- Fundamentals of Software Development (classes, objects, interfaces, functions, databases)
- The Essentials of Software Testing (methods, techniques, and tools)

Part 2: Software Testing, including:

- Client-Server Systems, Web Applications, and Various Business Applications.
- Manual Techniques & Methods
- Automated Tools (NUnit, WinRunner, QTPro, LoadRunner, QualityCenter, TestDirector, JMeter, Jira)
- Testing Types (sanity, functional, unit, regression, performance, security, and many others)
- Testing Documentation (test plans, test cases, test scripts, risk evaluation)

Minimum requirement

You don’t need to have a computer science degree to take this course, but you do need to be computer literate and comfortable with Windows Operation System (as a user), Microsoft Office (fundamentals of MS Word and MS Excel) and Internet. You also need to have access to a computer system with Windows XP or Windows Vista/7 Operation System, MS Office and Internet connection.
